This week, I thought I would give you a little glimpse into my life and my kitchen and share with you five of my favourite Thrive Life things! So without further ado, here we go!
I am one of those unique and special people who don’t just occasionally tear up when chopping onions – I will be in full-blown weeping mode before that thing is even fully peeled! Thrive Life onions have spared me countless boxes of tissue, not to mention how incredibly easy it is to just scoop and dump onions into any recipe! Usually I just toss them right in to whatever I’m making; I fry them in the pan alongside my perogies and kubasa, throw them in the crock-pot with my chilli, toss them straight into my Greek salad, and countless other uses. If you open my pantry, you will find Thrive Life onions in there, guaranteed.
I must confess that I am a snob when it comes to strawberries. Now that our local outdoor market is closed for the season, and my own strawberry plants in my garden are buried in snow, I just can’t bring myself to buy the anemic, flavourless globs that pass for strawberries in so many grocery stores. I used to just have a long, cold, strawberry-deprived winter (because frozen berries just aren’t the same either, unless they’re hidden in a smoothie). But now, thanks to Thrive Life, I can get my strawberry fix any time I’d like with a deliciously crunchy, intensely-flavoured strawberry. I just have to be prepared to share, because the instant my kids see me snacking on Thrive Life strawberries, they want some too!
I am currently in the midst of a health challenge that involves drinking RUVI (an amazing product line of pure fruit and veggie drinks with no additives whatsoever) every single day. It sounds a little dramatic, but RUVI is changing my life! Never before have I been able to eat 10 servings of fruits and veggies every single day. Never before have I consistently consumed 26 or more different types of fruits and veggies in the space of a week. As much as I aspire to eat well and be healthy, sometimes the effort of stocking all that fresh produce and consuming it before it spoiled meant that I sacrificed health for convenience and finished my day with decidedly less than the recommended 8-10 servings of fruits and veggies on board. Now with RUVI, the healthy choice is the easy choice! I’ve gone from having all sorts of strange and unhealthy pregnancy cravings to craving RUVI – clearly my body knows a good thing when it tastes it! I literally cannot say enough good things about RUVI. I’ve been documenting my RUVI Health Challenge here on the blog, so be sure to check out my other posts for more on that!
Thrive Life has truly transformed the way I feed myself and my family. Live for one day with a toddler and a pre-toddler, and you will realize how vitally important snack time is! Live for one day in a home with a toddler and a pre-toddler, and you will realize how messy snack time can be! Thrive Life helps out with both – all the different types of Snackies are all delicious and easy and make for amazing snacks because they are not sloppy and messy! I always have at least one bag of Snackies in my diaper bag, and it has warded off many an errand-running meltdown! When my little guy is starving and fussy but I’m still in the midst of making dinner, a handful of Thrive Life green peas and a bunch of measuring cups will buy me the much-needed time to get dinner on the table without his tummy being all filled up with crackers or cereal. Given the choice between a cookie or Snackies, my kids will choose the freeze-dried fruits and veggies nine times out of ten! Thanks to Snackies, even our between-meal munching is healthier!
Having my own Business
Had anyone told me several years ago that I would be launching my own home business, let alone one in the field of network marketing, I would have told them they were crazy! Being a businesswoman was never something on my radar – I was a nurse, and hoped to be a mom, and never had the slightest interest in any sort of marketing. To be honest, I really was not a fan of the network marketing model, and swore I would never be one of those people constantly bugging their friends and family to buy things! But then came my first baby, and I realized just how hard it can be to get dinner on the table some nights, let alone a healthy, nutritious meal rich in fruits and veggies. I was introduced to Thrive Life right around that time, and it was the solution to so many of my kitchen woes. Suddenly I was able to feed my family all the farm-to-table goodness I had dreamed of, but in minutes rather than hours!
Going from loyal customer to consultant was a gradual process for me – I found that I loved the food and used the food so frequently that sharing it just started to happen naturally. We welcomed a second little one to our family, and in all the busyness of life with two babies in two years, I couldn’t imagine my kitchen without Thrive Life. I was blessed with babies that slept very well, and I started finding myself with some margin during nap times, so I dove into researching more about the network marketing model and what it might look like to build a little side hustle and tell other mamas about the amazing kitchen solutions I had discovered. The more I learned, the more I decided that this was an opportunity that could work for me – to build a business on my terms, in my own style, fitting with my own personality, and flexible enough that it would not interfere with my desire to be a full-time wife and mom. I had no idea of the amazing community I would be joining, or of all the new opportunities it would provide for my introverted self to meet new people and discover unexpected kindred spirits. I’ve truly enjoyed the personal development, and little things like being able to engage my economics-loving husband in a discussion about the pros and cons of different business models! I never would have seen myself running my own business, but I am so glad that I am!
So there they are, five of my favourite things about Thrive Life. Have you tasted any of these, or found yourself in a line of work you never would have seen yourself doing? Share your story in the comments below!
