Recipes: 10 Purees in 10 Minutes

Pear Avocado Chicken

In heat-proof container, combine 2 Tbsp Thrive pears, 2 Tbsp Thrive chopped chicken, and 1/2 cup boiling water. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes. Add 1/2 ripe avocado. Puree in blender or food processor until smooth and creamy, adding slightly more water or avocado as needed to reach desired consistency. Serve when lukewarm or cool.

Blueberry Spinach Cereal

In small bowl, measure out 3 Tbsp oat baby cereal. With mortar and pestle, crush 3 Tbsp Thrive blueberries and 1 Tbsp Thrive chopped spinach until they are a fine powder. Add to bowl with commercial cereal. Add 1/2 cup (or slightly more) previously boiled, lukewarm water and stir. (Note: this will turn baby’s clothes very blue if you don’t soak stains right away!!)

Baby Oatmeal

In small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup quick-cooking rolled oats, 2 Tbsp Thrive granny smith apples, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, 1 prune, and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 8-10 minutes uncovered. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes. Add 1 tsp. maple syrup. Puree in blender until smooth. Serve when lukewarm.

Strawberry Mango Cauliflower

With mortar and pestle, crush 3 Tbsp Thrive strawberries, 2 Tbsp Thrive mangoes, and 2 Tbsp. Thrive cauliflower into a fine powder. Combine with 1/2 cup (or more) previously-boiled lukewarm water.

Beef Sweet Potato Apricot

In heat-proof container, combine 2 Tbsp Thrive ground beef, 3 Tbsp Thrive sweet potato, 1 Tbsp Thrive apricots, and 3/4 cup boiling water. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes. Puree in blender until smooth, adding slightly more water if needed. Serve when lukewarm.

Cheesy Fishy Cauliflower

In blender, combine 3 Tbsp well-cooked white fish (such as cod or sole), 3 Tbsp Thrive cauliflower, and 1/3 cup (or slightly more) previously boiled water. Blend until smooth. Pour into bowl. Stir in 1 Tbsp grated cheddar cheese. Serve when lukewarm.

Cantaloupe and Raspberry

In small bowl, mash 1/3 cup very ripe cantaloupe with a fork until mushy. With mortar and pestle, grind 2 Tbsp Thrive raspberries into a fine powder, then add to cantaloupe. Add 1-2 Tbsp previously boiled water if needed.

Beet Fruit Crisp Cereal

In small bowl, combine 5 Tbsp. rice baby cereal with 5 Thrive Beet Fruit Crisp Snackies and 1/3 cup (or slightly more) previously-boiled lukewarm water. Let stand 5 minutes. Stir until no chunks remain. (Note: this will turn baby’s clothes very pink if you don’t soak stains right away!!)

Pear Kale Blackberry Cereal

Crush 2 Tbsp Thrive pears, 1 Tbsp Thrive kale, and 1 Tbsp blackberries into powder with a mortar and pestle. Combine in small bowl with 2 Tbsp mixed grain baby cereal. Add 1/2 cup (or slightly more) previously-boiled lukewarm water and stir until combined.

Peanut Butter Banana Cereal

Crush 3 Tbsp Thrive banana into a powder with a mortar and pestle. Combine in small bowl with 3 Tbsp baby cereal and 1 tsp natural peanut butter. Add 1/2 cup (or slightly more) previously-boiled lukewarm water and stir until combined.
